Week 2 of the blog

Well I have been interviewing with a few real estate brokerages lately along with my full load of schooling to see what firm I want to hang my real estate license with. Unfortunatley I havent made up my mind yet on what situation will be the most opimal and make me and my wife happiest. Eveyone I have talked to so far thinks that this is all I have to fall on to and that I have 80 hours a week to devote to being a middle man....Its kind of frustrating just because the only reason I went to the real estate school was so I could be a leasing agent and actually earn a consistent income and not be the 'middle man' that gets paid for doing, well, nothing except for, well nothing (real estate agent). My real opinion is that the licensing for realtors was simply created to boost our economy and I invite any and all conflicting opinions to share with me what exactly they do that we cant do and should do ourselves. Anyway I digress, I dont want to be a salesperson and do 'nothing' for 80 hours a week because of goals with school so I will meet with a few more Property Mgmt. companies instead of brokerages and hopefully be employed with the best one in about a week. Some financial details that I might note would be the recent selling of my boat for only 3,000 dollars the other day obviously becasue it isnt necessarily boating season, but anyway had to do that as an effect of being unemployed for the last month of real estate school. I was intrigued by reading a blog the other day about not buying useless items and how it is a bit contageous when you see a significant change or rather lack of it in your checking account. I would like to echo those thoughts and notions that when you simply do stop buying 'crap' it creates quite a sense of self mastery and instills a greater drive a motivation to save and of course the more you save the greater likelihood of investing. So for all of us 23 year olds who seem to be scraping by, if we simply stop useless spending we will see greaer and brighter futures on the horizon.

This blogging experience will definitely be a new one for me. I have no experience in doing something like this but I am looking forward to it as I think it will help me to be more accountable and responsible for my goals and plans. I am hoping that verbally submitting my plans in this blog will put them on the forefront of my mind at all times. I have just a few classes to finish this semester to receive my associates degree in business including Accounting 240 and GBS221.

To give a brief background of myself, I worked for the Superior Court or the past two years serving process in the form of forcible detainers but mainly of the photo radar summons. Recently I started doing a bit of real estate after receiving my license to be a real estate agent in Arizona. Its a new experience for me but I am optimistic as after three years of practicing real estate as an agent I would like to get my brokers license so I can do property management. Likewise after graduating form either ASU or U of A I hope to become a CPA or work with one of the Big 4 firms for two years then apply to the Harvard Business School and receive my MBA. I spent two years as a missionary in that area and worked very closely with several people associated with the school either as students or professors.
